Our key-note speaker next Monday 8 July, will be Sir James McLay KMNZ QSO, who is a diplomat and former politician.  Jim was Deputy Prime Minister during 1984 and also Leader of the National Party and Leader of the Opposition during 1984 to 1986.  Jim retired from parliamentary politics in 1987 and in 2009 became New Zealand's Permanent Representative to the United Nations. In 2015, Jim became New Zealand's Representative to the Palestinian Authority and from 2016 to 2017 was New Zealand's Consul General in Honolulu.  The title of Jim’s speech with be  ‘My time as NZ Ambassador to the United Nations’.
